daily journal

stomach's been bothering me for a couple of days, but not unlikely, since i'm eating too much food (faster than my digestive system can keep up) and then eating too much salad (too much roughage). ended up having to eat a few carb-y snacks to help settle it; i need to just adopt a regular diet.

sitting in my recliner working this afternoon. when my wife has a day shift, baby the cat always wants us to sit side-by-side in the recliner and "hang out" – she sleeps, and i work on my laptop. it's kinda nice: the door blinds are closed, and i don't turn on any lights in the daytime, as our cabin is lighted just well enough by natural light through curtained windows to be comfortably dim, but not totally dark.

working on my MAAS rad doc this afternoon, figuring out what to comment in and out to make three different versions: vanilla (which has everything, and would end up being our offline doc), UI, which explains only the UI methods and tools, and CLI, which uses only the CLI. it's pretty tricky, because there are a lot of places where we (tacitly) deferred to the CLI section of the doc, which is currently not well-organized and not easy to traverse. we're working on improving the CLI, so i don't need to spend any time on the old doc, but i can bring the old CLI into the RAD doc, knowing that i can replace sections with new information as we move forward. it's a slog, but it's my kind of drowsy summer afternoon slog. emacs makes it all so much more fun, tbh.
